Our “Friday Travel Photo” comes from Startle member Marty Schousboe of Chicago. Schousboe went on a trip with friends to Los Angeles this month. “We decided to take a day trip west from L.A. to Santa Monica Beach,” he says. “It was midday when we made our way through quaint downtown Santa Monica and onto the sand. After dipping our feet in the Pacific and walking along the beach, we made our way to the 103-year-old Santa Monica Pier. Here, we saw the fisherman casting out their lines, kids lined up for rides and even a movie crew prepping to film. This shot was taken from up in the Ferris wheel car, overlooking the pier, the people-filled beach and Santa Monica Mountains in the background.”
